# Terms and Conditions
Export Chat Reader (package `com.exportchatreader.app`) · Effective October 20, 2026
> By installing or using Export Chat Reader, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
## 1. Service
Export Chat Reader, operated by CIBRU, is an Android utility for importing, parsing, reading, searching, and playing media from exported WhatsApp conversations in `.txt` or `.zip` files you select. Chat processing occurs locally. It does not connect to your WhatsApp account, monitor live conversations, or recover deleted messages. It is a reader, not a chat backup service. The free version is supported by advertising; optional recurring Premium subscriptions provide ad-free access while verified entitlement is active. Ads, consent, billing, verification, opted-in referrals, and external links use network services.
## 2. Eligibility and responsibility
You must be legally capable of accepting these terms. You are responsible for your device, your use of the app, and the content you import. You represent that you own the content or have the necessary rights and permissions. Do not use the app to violate privacy, confidentiality, intellectual-property, export-control, or other applicable laws.
## 3. License
Subject to these terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use Export Chat Reader for personal, lawful purposes. You may not reverse engineer, resell, distribute a modified copy, interfere with security controls, misuse the app or services, or infringe another person's rights, except where applicable law expressly permits otherwise.
## 4. Your content
You retain ownership of imported content. These terms do not grant us ownership. The app does not upload imported chats to the developer. If you choose an external action, such as sharing an attachment or opening a location link, the selected third-party app or service may receive the data you direct to it.
## 5. Advertising
The free version may display Google-served advertisements. Advertising requires network access and may involve the data processing described in the Privacy Policy. Ad availability, content, and frequency may change. Verified paid Premium or a verified referral reward suppresses the app's ad placements and new ad requests while access is active. Already-started requests may finish; consent, SDK initialization, and purchase services may still contact their providers. Ad-free access is not a promise that all network activity stops.
## 6. Paid Services, Billing & Subscriptions
Where available, Premium offers three recurring structures through Google Play: **Weekly ($0.49/week, no free trial)**, **Monthly ($1.49/month, eligible 3-Day Free Trial)**, and **Annual ($14.99/year, eligible 7-Day Free Trial)**. These are intended standard USD defaults; the localized price, taxes, billing period, trial terms, and renewal details confirmed at Google Play checkout control the transaction. **Trial eligibility is managed by Google Play**; trials are not promised to every account. An ineligible account may buy the regular plan instead. Debug examples and unavailable plans are not purchasable offers.
All three plans provide the same ad-removal benefit; they differ in billing interval and eligible trial. Weekly is billed immediately upon confirmation. When an eligible monthly or annual trial ends, Google Play charges the recurring price confirmed at checkout unless you cancel before the trial ends. Subscriptions automatically renew until canceled.
Cancel before trial expiry or the next renewal to avoid the next charge. We recommend allowing at least 24 hours to complete cancellation as a precaution, not a separate Google Play cutoff; follow the date and instructions shown by Google Play. On Android use **Google Play Store > Profile Icon > Payments & Subscriptions > Subscriptions > Export Chat Reader > Cancel Subscription**, using the purchasing Google Account, and complete the confirmation steps. You can also use the Google Play Subscription Center. Cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the paid period and does not itself create a refund; regional options and mandatory rights may differ. See the Subscriptions & Refund Policy.
Pending payments never activate Premium. A completed Google Play purchase (including an eligible trial), authoritative server verification, and acknowledgement are required. Offline paid access is bounded to 72 hours after verification and never beyond the verified expiry; reboot or loss of cache integrity requires online verification. Purchase-data deletion saves a local sync pause and removes local paid access before requesting server deletion. If saving that pause fails, the app reports an error instead of requesting deletion. Once paused, only an explicit **Restore Purchases** action resumes it on that installation. Deletion, uninstalling, and turning sync off do not cancel Google Play billing or request a refund.
Restore Purchases queries the purchasing Play account without an app login or new charge. Verification also requires the original installation's secure key. Clearing Android storage, uninstalling, moving devices, a lost key, or a legacy unbound purchase may require support recovery; automatic transfer to another installation is not promised. These actions also erase local settings such as the sync pause. Contact support@cibru.in with your Google Play order number, such as `GPA.XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXXX`, not your purchase token. ## 6.1 Referral rewards
Participation is optional and requires online eligibility and anti-abuse checks. Qualified referrals earn additions at counts 3, 5, 10, 15, and 100: respectively 30, 30, 120, 185, and 36,500 days, extending from the later of server time or existing reward expiry. The cumulative additions are 30, 60, 180, 365, and 36,865 days. “Lifetime Premium” is a label for the finite 36,500-day (100-year) final extension, not a guarantee of perpetual service. Self-referrals, duplicates, invalid and ineligible installations earn no credit. Availability may be paused during fraud-prevention or identity migrations.
Referral rewards are independent of paid subscriptions, do not cancel or credit paid billing, and may expire while a paid subscription stays active. Offline referral access is bounded to 24 hours after verification and the reward expiry. Unsync clears local referral state but does not delete the server profile. Request server deletion before unsync: unsync also erases the saved credential needed for in-app deletion. Confirmed referral deletion removes the app-scoped profile/rewards and retains an anti-abuse device key with a 90-day expiry; physical cleanup depends on backend maintenance. The shared Supabase Auth identity and other apps' records remain. Recovery after uninstalling, clearing storage, or changing devices is not guaranteed. See the Referral Terms.
## 7. Availability and compatibility
Archive formats vary by platform, language, version, and export settings. We do not promise perfect parsing, uninterrupted availability, compatibility with every file, preservation of metadata, or permanent availability of any feature. Keep independent copies of important archives; Export Chat Reader is a viewer, not a backup service.
## 8. Updates and termination
We may update, suspend, or discontinue features, subject to applicable law and Google Play requirements. You may stop using the app at any time. We may restrict access for misuse or violation of these terms. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive.
## 9. Disclaimer
To the maximum extent allowed by law, the app is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, uninterrupted operation, or error-free parsing. Nothing in these terms excludes consumer guarantees or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
## 10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, or business arising from use of the app. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited only to the extent permitted by applicable law.
## 11. Governing terms
Applicable law and mandatory consumer protections govern these terms. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.
